Duke Nukem Forever should not exist →
I wrote this angry rant over on my blog about Duke Nukem and rape culture.

- What’s the correct dosage for a ninety-pound person? Because the tablets are six or eight mg, and I doubt that’s correct
- Do I need to take anti-androgens? And if I do, again the correct dosage. That would make it like eighty freaking dollars a month
- How long until they take affect with breast development?
You know, if people could circulate this so that is their followers know that would be great.
I don’t know the answers to these questions.
Hopefully some of my followers do.
Fuck it, I’m even turning anon back on.
1) Hormone dosage isn’t based on weight. It’s based on starting hormone levels, which vary greatly from person to person and within the same person over time. That’s why doctors do regular blood tests when patients are on HRT.
6mg would be a large dose for estradiol. I’m not sure what size dose it would be for Premarin. Different types of estrogen have different potency.
2) Both anti-androgens and estrogen are necessary. If you take just anti-androgens, you will have low levels of estrogen and testosterone, which can make you ill. If you just take estrogen, you will have high levels of both, which can also make you ill.
3) Depends on the person. There is a large range of responsiveness. But it will take months to notice a change. Before you notice anything visually, your breasts will become tender and painful to the touch.
I’m co-opting the topic here.
Re, #2:
uh. the fuck? So, the recommendation from Dr. Zucker to go on blockers FOR AN ENTIRE SEMESTER would actually make me physically ill? and he knows this?
like
what the fuck
so, he knows full well that it would make me ill? and, now my auto-pessimistic-but-kind-of-tainted-by-Zucker’s-douchiness response is ‘oh, he did that so he can ‘turn me away from being trans”. which, really just means ‘turn me away from transitioning, because you can’t un-trans someone’
well
fuck him
Whenever I remember that you’re being forced to see Dr. Zucker, I get angry. Fuck him indeed.
Although, from what I’ve heard, a brief period of anti-androgens-only is a fairly common prescription from endocrinologists. By brief, I mean the most common number I’ve heard is a month. I don’t know why, though.

“My Son likes to Wear Dresses”
Someone call social services and look at that punk ass dad. That kid looks traumatized.
Yeah, this woman is out of control.
Shes out of control for letting her son dress how he wants to?
My cousin allows her daughter to wear dresses. Should I call CP on her?
lol Tranzient, tranzient, tranzient. I always like when your little crew comes out to play.
Why can’t he dress how he wants?
Who cares what he wants. He’s 5 years old. If you let a 5 year do what he wanted all the time, he’d be eating ice cream every night for dinner.
Such a vague defense.
Do I know you? You jumped into the cliche villain monologuing really quick there.
And yours is a vague defense. What’s wrong with eating ice cream for dinner? Regardless, I don’t see how a piece of clothing is hurting him.
Don’t you UNDERSTAND? If he wears dresses, he will be DIFFERENT. This will make his life HARDER. It is the manifest duty of all parents to prevent difficulty in their children’s lives. This is why all parents must FORCE their children to be completely average.
Am I bitter? Yes, I am probably bitter. Andrea said it better than I can.
- just another member of tranzient’s crew, apparently
There has been an ongoing discussion here about anger, and how ‘abrasive’ it is okay to be. I have been following it, but unable to reply to the questions (the rest of the contributors here apparently check their email faster than me). So, I’m going to take some time to respond to something anon…
This is a short post I write over at The Feminist Hub, in response to a spat of Tone Arguments from anonymous asks.
Raleigh, NC – A lesbian couple have been thrown out of a shopping complex after a security guard saw them share a kiss. They were told that their kiss was inappropriate and “no one wants to see that here.” Watch the video below!
The Cameron Village shopping center is in hot water now. Caitlin Breedlove and her partner had just finished eating at a restaurant in the complex when they went outside to sit on a bench. They shared a kiss and security guards rushed over to throw them off the property. Not only are Caitlin and her partner furious, but the owner of the restaurant has lodged a complaint on behalf of his customers. The ACLU is also jumping in, demanding immediate remedies.
Oh god. Most of my schools are in NC. Someone needs to lay down the justice.
Reblogging and sending to twitter. Because I effin’ live here, and this is infuriating.
I thought you were better than that, Raleigh. Okay, maybe I didn’t. Still, RAGE.
That is hella vile. I’ve written about these shitheads before.
I couldn’t even finish this. I read about a third of it, skimmed the next third, then had to stop because I was consciously suppressing the urge to break into a stream of profanity.
A few days old, but wow:
Only one group of our citizens - gays and lesbians - is still subject to official, state-sponsored, state-enforced discrimination.
Really, Mr. Boies? Is that what you think? Then, please explain to my why courts refuse name changes to pre-op/non-op trans people (at least in my state). Not to mention legally preventing us from using the bathroom in which we feel safest. Or the legal difficulties in changing legal sex. Or why insurance companies are allowed to deny benefits for transition-related treatment.
Way to make us invisible. Good work there. This mentality - this lack of thoughtfulness - highlights the problem with the Incremental Progress argument. “We have to drop gender identity from ENDA, it’s the only way it will pass. Don’t worry, we’ll work on the gender part later. Oh, IF WE REMEMBER THAT YOU EXIST, that is.”
Fucking Hel.
